about the song

Alumina, which is a song by the Japanese Visual Kei band Nightmare, was the first ending song for the anime Death Note. The song is absolutely brilliant in my oh-so-unbiased opinion — if you get the chance, listen to it! It's the ending theme for the first twenty episodes of the Death Note anime, which you can find online on YouTube, among other places.

Love the song? You can buy the single! :D The best place I've found to get it is YesAsia. They have three different versions of the single: one with the The World PV, one with the Alumina PV, and one with just the songs. Nightmare did both the first opening and ending of the anime, so naturally the single has both songs on it. (You can also buy it at Amazon, but the only one they have there is the one with the Alumina PV.). Keep in mind that the DVDs are Region 2, so it will only work in Japan, Europe, South Africa, Greenland and the Middle East (including Egypt). However, just pop the DVD into your computer, turn on a program like VLC Media Player, and you can watch it. ^_^

Just interested in trying out the song? The livejournal user ser3n uploaded both the PV and the mp3 here; remember, if you download them, you aren't allowed to keep the files for more than 24 hours if you don't already own the single.

The lyrics can be found here; the post includes kanji, romanji, and English :D Please contact me if this link is ever broken so I can mirror it here (I saved a copy of it for safekeeping :D).

I plan to add a gallery of screencaps from the PV later on. ^_^ I was more interested in getting the fanlisting done first.
